3. MORE. MONTHS. HELP.

Okay I'm totally not freaking out. Okay.. Maybe just a little bit but I have a right to be! Right?! While my long journey of beauty school is coming to an end and I don't quite know what to do with myself. I keep being asked what I want to do once I have my cosmetology license and I don't even know what to say.
This industry is so big and there's so many things I can do that I feel completely overwhelmed with all of my options. But what I do know is that my career is about to officially start and I have to get my sh*t together.....*cries*
There are a few people that I look to for inspiration and guidance when it comes to this career of mine. They're all very successful hair stylist whether its just for makeup or weddings, maybe even color. But my point with all of this is that they all started in the same spot that I'm in right now, right? That's all I tell myself when I feel crappy about my career because I don't know what I want. How do you step in to such a huge career field and just decide to do one thing????
This is all so overwhelming and I just want to give it all back but I can't. Time for my big girl pants and to get ready for the beauty world full force....I'm just praying I do great. I will do great...
I'll let you know how it goes....
Wish my Luck!!

Current Beauty Favorites!!

Hey guys!
So I thought I would start a new thing here on my blog. Every month or so I'm going to be coming on and sharing with you guys what my current beauty favs are! These post are going to include skincare, makeup and also haircare! I'm super excited to be finally doing this so that way I'm always post new content on here!

1.) I'm sorta obsessed with this new Clinique foundation that I've been using for the past few weeks. It's the Clinique super balanced silk makeup with SPF 15. It really works with my skin in all the areas I need It to, like my oily spots aren't as oily and it doesn't cling to my dry spots I've recently been having! its a medium to full coverage (which I love).

2.) This totally should of went before the foundation but anyway.... I've recently been dealing with some dehydration in my skin so I have some dry spots on my face. I needed a primer that was going to help hydrate my face and also prep my skin for my makeup application. I love this elf hydrating primer it has actually helped. I would totally give this a 7 out of 10 and would purchase it once again.

3.) While I  do my face makeup and everything else I always try and moisturize my lips with either a lip mask or something of the sort. I found this Milani lip moisturizer at my local walgreens and I lovvvvvvvvve it! It makes my lips feel very soft and smooth. It completely has changed my lipstick game. Now I don't feel gross if I put a matte lipstick on because I know my lips are prepped for it! probably one of my favorite makeup products yet honestly.
4.) So I love to have a poppin ass highlight going on when I do my makeup. I want it to be notice ya feel me??? Wet & Wild's Precious Petals highlighter is extremely beautiful. Has such a gorgeous pink hue to it when you wear it and I think one of the best parts is that its under $10!!!! I always tell everyone that if you can get your hands on this to get it because you won't regret it honestly!! One of my best drugstore makeup buys.
5.) Yet another highlighter! I recently discovered this highlighter and it truly does not disappoint! J cat beauty YouGlow Girl in the shade twilight is stunnnnning! its such a perfect golden color. it goes on so effortlessly. It's been my go to for my more natural looks when I want to wear makeup but not a lot of makeup. I don't think it'll be gong anywhere anytime soon!

6.) For the last item to be included in this months favs is the JaclynXMorphe eyeshadow palette. This has seriously changed my eyeshadow game! These shadows blend like butter I'm so in love with it. I find myself going to this palette everytime I'm trying to do my makeup because its seriously so nice! have all the best blending colors for a natural look to a smokey eye! if you don't have this, please get it. It's seriously sooooo great.

I hope you guys enjoyed this new post!

Beauty School Drop Out

Don't Worry I'm not dropping out! Lets talk goals, so at the
school I attend we have a Honors program and a Deans list.
I'm not going to try, I'm going to succeed and accomplish these for myself. For deans list I have to have certain things completed.
So I'm currently working on my color honors and texture honors as well. I have to have color, texture and cutting honors all completed for deans list. I'm sure you guys don't really care much about all of this but I want to put it down in writing so I can hold myself accountable to accomplish all of my goals.
I set these goals for myself when I had first started my school journey. Now that I'm almost done I'm setting my mind to these once more and I'm going to complete them. Putting out into the universe as of right now.
A lot of people make it seem that cosmetology school is just fun and games, but in reality its not. Yeah of course I have fun at school but that's because I enjoy what I'm learning. But just like everything else we have book work, assignments, test and even classes to prepare us for our state board test. We bust our butts so that way at the end of the day we know what we need to know and we are able to apply that knowledge out in the field per-say. I put so much pressure on myself everyday to try and get people to come in and get the hair done because not having clients isn't an option. In this industry you have to make a name for yourself. No one else will. You have to be putting yourself out there to be know and to because that name that if someone hears it they'll know exactly who you are and what you do, what you're best at, and that you're work is worth the money.
One of my biggest idols in this industry is Larisa Love. Her work is remarkable. She makes doing hair look easy and fun. She works with CosmoProf and travels around the world because she's such a successful Hairdresser. She's made her name in the industry and now all she has to do is do what she loves for the rest of her life. I aspire to know like how she is. I look up to her and so many other people because they never forget where they started. They don't act like they know everything there is to know about the industry. Every single person that's in this industry has started at the same spot I'm at right now and that is all that I have to remind myself of. I can succeed just like them all I have to do is set my mind to it.
The love I have for this industry grows everyday.
This is just the beginning of me journey.

Youtube

I enjoy making youtube videos, watching other youtubers and just over all the filming
and over all the whole experience. I haven't had much time to really focus on my youtube
lately but I'm trying to make it a point to focus on it. I have just recently posted a new video, just
a quick chatty get ready with me while I do my simple summer makeup for any regular day.
On my youtube journey I've learned that I won't make the best content all the time, I won't always have the best high tech editing software or anything like that. But as long as I stick to it
everything will come together eventually. I just have to be persistent and make sure I believe in myself and the journey I've chosen. So below is my video that I just described. Give it a watch!

Let's give this a go

Hello

As I sit here and write my first ever blog post by myself (without my oldest sister here to help) I wonder who will actually read this. Ya' know? Where do I ever start? I'm almost
done with cosmetology school, I'm engaged now (!!!!) & I just recently
moved into my own place with my fiancé.

Lets start with cosmetology school, I love hair. I love to look at hair, play with
hair and to do hair. I love everything about makeup, skin care and helping people find their inner
self confidence. Being in the industry that is surrounded by so many beautiful people you can get lost
within your own world, and what I mean by that is feel like you're not good enough or you don't
have the confidence you had before. For example I cut all of my hair off because i was unhappy with how I looked, how i felt and my image all around. The moment those shears cut my hair I thought to myself "oh shit no going back now.". but I feel that cutting my hair has brought this confidence that I didn't know I had in me out. I feel that I look like an actual hair dresser now and its helped me feel more confident in my work also. Probably one of the greatest things I've done recently for myself.

Now some people who don't really know me but follow my blog, my youtube journey or just on some sort of social media already know this but I have recently got engaged to the most amazing man I've ever met. My fiancĂ© is so so kind, caring and loving. Hes always working long hours or helping me get the right angle or lighting for my makeup pictures. Theres not a day that goes by I'm not thankful for him and his big heart. With being engaged now, we have recently moved into our own place and living together has its moments.
Its so crazy how well we go together even with learning to live together. So many couples
and just people in general have told us "good luck" or "yeah that won't last long" but yet here we are
proving everyone wrong. We have learned to be a team, and take the struggles we face together and turn them into lessons to better our relationship. I'm so happy to be spending the rest of my life with
such an amazing person.

This blog post wasn't super long or even that interesting but its a start right? My life
right now is so crazy that I'm trying to find the time to do my blog and youtube, but no more excuses things will get done and I will comit to being better at it (hopefully). Thank you to anyone who took their time to read this and just show interest in me. Everyones support means the world to me.
Xoxo, Marissa
